20 Year Old Hurt in Markesan Stabbing

A 20 year old man suffered serious injuries after a stabbing incident in Markesan Tuesday morning. Markesan police received a call around 7:46 am Tuesday of a man lying down on a rock on the corner of Bridge and John Streets. Upon arrival, the victim told police he was stabbed numerous times in the face and arms by a 21 year old man during an altercation at 120 N. Bridge Street. The victim was taken from the scene by ambulance, and later flown to Theda Care in Neenah for treatment of his injuries. Authorities made contact with the suspect who was taken to Theda Care in Berlin for treatment of minor injuries. He was then taken to the Green Lake County Correctional Facility and booked on charges of First Degree Reckless Injury, a Class D Felony. Names are being withheld until formal charges are filed by the Green Lake County District Attorney.
