$500,000 Cash Bond Set For Man Who Kidnapped Woman And Child At Appleton Mall

An update to a story we brought you earlier this week where a man kidnapped a woman and her child driving them to area banks where the man made the woman withdraw money… 51-year-old Jay Scott is facing six charges in connection to the crimes that started in the parking lot of the Fox River Mall.

He is facing counts of armed carjacking, kidnapping, forceful abduction of a child, armed robbery, felony bail jumping, and theft of movable property.

According to police, Scott approached the woman in the mall parking lot on a bike and pulled a knife on her and demanded she get in the vehicle. Scott then got behind the wheel driving to several banks where he made her withdraw money to give to him.

The woman and child were able to escape and Scott drove off. He was captured a short time later in Winnebago County after an officer spotted the car used in the crime.

Scott is being held on a half million dollar cash bond.
