Air Quality Alert For Fond du Lac County

The Department of Natural Resources has issued an “Air Quality Advisory” for Fond du Lac County Saturday.

The advisory, which will be in effect from noon through midnight Saturday, means the air quality index is expected to reach dangerous levels for people with lung ailments like asthma, children, older adults, and people who are active outdoors and it is suggested they reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.

The reason for the advisory is due to ground level ozone amounts increasing today along with the heat and humidity.

Suggestions to reduce your risk of problems during an air quality advisory are, choose less-strenuous activities, take more breaks during outdoor activities, reschedule outdoor activities to the morning or to another day and move them inside if possible.

Rain and cooler temperatures Sunday will bring ozone levels back down to normal.
