Celebrate Oakfield Today

The newly formed Oakfield Historical Society will put on a first time event today. It’s called “Celebrate Oakfield” and it will kick off at the Community Center at 2:30 p.m. with an ice cream social.  Then at 4 p.m. activities move to the Village Park with kids’ games, a raffle, food and drinks, and live music. Proceeds will benefit the Oakfield Key Club and CCD smiles a non-profit organization that benefits kids and families with a rare bone disease. Heidi West is one of the organizers of the event. Her son suffers from CCD. She says her son has undergone 24 surgeries. Live entertainment for the event includes “Willie’s Shadow” a Willie Nelson tribute performer from 5 to 7 p.m. at the park. Then Benign Addiction will perform from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.
