COVID-19 Numbers Retreat In County, Rise In State

The COVID-19 numbers in Fond du Lac County retreated slightly, compared to the past few days. Only two new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the county total to 404. The active cases were reduced by fifteen, now sitting at 50, while recovered cases climbed, to 348. Even hospitalizations took a step back with now two people hospitalized as a result of the coronavirus. The total number of negative test returned stands at 11,515.

For a fourth time in six days, Wisconsin has its highest number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases. Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm released those numbers, during a media conference call Tuesday. The positive test result rate out of 15,644 new test results was 6.6 percent, and the seven-day average of positive tests is 7.1 percent. Palm said the increases are not due to increased testing, but rather because community spread is occurring in Wisconsin. DHS also listed six new deaths, for a total of 826 due to COVID-19. The total negative test count statewide rose to 673,195
