DNR Warning of Online Hunting, Fishing Scams

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is warning of
online hunting and fishing license scams. The DNR said in a news release
Wednesday that it is aware of at least two websites appearing to offer fishing
or hunting licenses. Those websites reportedly only give information on how to
apply for a hunting or fishing license after customers pay a fee. The DNR says
the websites also collect sensitive personal data as part of those
transactions. Officials say if you’re interested in buying a valid hunting or
fishing license in Wisconsin, they can be purchased at a DNR Service Center, through
an independent sales agent or on the DNR website.
