Downtown FDL Bustles During Wine Walk
Fond du Lac, WI – The inaugural Downtown Fond du lac Wine Walk, held on June 17, was attended by more than 330 people. Participants took full advantage of beautiful weather to get out and explore Downtown Fond du Lac.
The event was a boon for downtown businesses and an eye-opener for attendees who reported visiting an average of 8 new businesses while they were downtown. Based on data collected by survey from businesses and participants, the Wine Walk resulted in more than $24,000 in direct spending downtown and brought 30 participants to Fond du Lac from more than an hour away.
One participant stated, “It was a wonderful event and great reason for patrons other than the usual bar crowd to be out downtown on a Friday night. It also supported local businesses, which I feel is very important to our community. I’m hoping there will be more of these events in the future!”
Businesses participating in the Wine Walk included Norcino Deli & Charcuterie, Wood’s Floral & Gifts, Macy Place Art & Tea Shoppe, Cujak’s Wine and Coffee Bar, Victoria’s Pet Nutrition Center/UnTamed Life, Fat Joe’s Bar & Grill, Lillian’s, Annie’s Fountain City Café (sponsored by The BBS Agency), Downtown Deli to Go, Gallery & Frame Shop, Main Street Fashion, and Trista Holz Studios.
The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership is the administrative arm of the Business Improvement District, which is comprised of 284 businesses, 76% of which are locally owned. The mission of the partnership is to establish a diverse, prosperous and healthy district that is the social, commercial and cultural heart of our community.
