Fatal Accident In Washington County
Washington County Sheriff’s officials say a medical
condition may be the reason a 63-year-old Ellsworth man was driving erratically
on Highway 41 causing a two-vehicle accident that led to the death of a
Barrington, Illinois man. The accident in the Town of Polk happened shortly
after 1:30 Friday afternoon. The Ellsworth man was driving his SUV erratically in
the southbound lane when he entered the median, then the northbound lane hitting
a passenger car. The 82-year-old Illinois man driving that vehicle was killed in
the crash. His 76-year-old wife was treated at the scene for non-life
threatening injuries. The Ellsworth man was taken to Aurora Hospital in Hartford
where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. A Slinger Police
officer was one of those who witnessed the accident.
