FDL High School Teacher Receives Grant Through “Thank America’s Teachers” Program

A Fond du Lac High School teacher was surprised with a $2,500 grant
on Wednesday through the Farmer’s Insurance Thank America’s Teachers Program.

Danielle Joslin received the grant as recognition for her efforts in making a
difference in the community. Joslin’s application for the grant noted that
nearly half of the Fond du Lac
School District
students
live in poverty and are in need of warm winter clothing – which helps keep them
comfortable and helps them be in school and do better in school.

Joslin plans
to use the grant money to buy supplies to teach students how to knit hats and
scarves – and will have them create one for themselves and a second for either
a fellow student or adult in a homeless shelter.
