FDL PD Searching For Suspect Who Fled On Foot

The Fond du Lac Police Department continues to search for a male driver who led officers on a short, high-speed pursuit early Friday (1/28/2022).

On Friday, January 28th at approximately 12:38 a.m. a Police Officer with the City of Fond du Lac Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Sheboygan Street and S. Marr Street. The stop originated due to an equipment violation as well as the odor of smoked marijuana exiting from inside the vehicle.

The officer activated the lights on the squad vehicle but the driver failed to stop the suspect vehicle, and instead headed east away from the scene.

The suspect vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at Sheboygan Street and S. Park Avenue and continued east on Sheboygan Street, stopping near the intersection of Sheboygan St. and Everett St., before the suspect fled on foot.

The Officer remained with the vehicle and was able to detain a passenger that was also in the vehicle.

Initial investigation into this incident identified a 23 year old Oshkosh resident as the suspected driver of the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle was a 26 year old Waupun resident.

No individuals were taken into custody as further investigation is needed. The pursuit was approximately one minute in duration and about 1 mile in length. Speeds reached approximately 58 miles per hour. The driver is facing eluding and drug charges.
