Fire damages Town of Oakfield home

On November 1st, 2025 at 2:21p.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Oakfield Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire at N3256 Highland Rd in the Township of Oakfield, Fond du Lac County.

When officers and fire personal arrived on scene there was smoke coming from the south wall of the house. It was determined there was an active fire inside of the house’s walls. The fire department was able to quickly locate the fire and extinguish it preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the house. The majority of the house was saved with damage being limited to the south wall of the house.

The official cause of the fire is unknown at this time but it is believed it possibly have started from a pellet heater. There are no reported injuries as a result of the fire. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Oakfield Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the following departments; Brownsville Fire, Lamartine Fire, Waupun Fire, RIT Team 4, Oak First Responders, and Lifestar EMS.
