Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue respond to Division Street house fire Saturday

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to a report of a house fire in the 300 block of east Division Street Saturday morning, April 27, 2024.

As crews arrived at the 339 address, they encountered flames showing from a basement window of the two story residence. Everyone in the house was able to evacuate prior to the fire department’s arrival, but three dogs were still inside when units arrived on scene. Fire fighters entered the house and were able to save all three of the dogs.

The fire was extinguished, but not before it caused extensive damage to the basement and first floor of the home. Firefighters say the age of the home, type of building construction, and high winds, aided the fire in spreading quickly from the basement to the first floor. Fire fighters are investigating what may have caused the fire.
