Fond du Lac Man Flown To Theda Clark With Head Injury After Being Hit On Bike

A 21-year-old Fond du Lac man suffered a head injury as a result of being struck by a vehicle while on a bicycle Thursday, August 18, 2022 in the City of Fond du Lac.

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and City of Fond du Lac Police responded to the crash on Reinhardt Court at Martin Avenue on the city’s far south side just after 9 AM.

According to police the 21-year-old was riding his bicycle west on Reinhardt Court and was attempting to cross Martin Ave. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north bound on Martin Avenue driven by a 69-year-old Fond du Lac man.

The bicyclist, who was wearing a bike helmet, was transported by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Ambulance to SSM St. Agnes Hospital with a head injury before being flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center by Theda Star Helicopter.

The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.

The accident remains under active investigation
