Fond du Lac Police Investigate Shots Fired Near Park Avenue And 2nd Street

Fond du Lac Police are looking for a person possibly involved with a shots fired incident in the city Saturday night.

At about 11:10 p.m., officers were sent to the area of East 2nd St and south Park Avenue for multiple reports of possible gunshots coming from the area.

Officers searched the area and spoke with witnesses who said they saw two men running down the street, one firing a gun in the air and laughing.

Officers were able to find several handgun casings near the intersection.

A twenty year old Wausau area man was located near the scene with a gun in his waistband. He was detained and later transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail where he is being held on numerous weapons related charges.

Police spent the next hour tracking the second suspect believed to be involved in the incident but were unable to locate them.

There were no reported injuries or property damage from the gunshots. The incident continues to be investigated by the City of Fond du Lac Police Department.
