Former Principal Makes Impact on Fond du Lac Sports Community

Richard “Dick” Bestor long time principal at Theisen and Sabish Middle Schools passed away August 1st due to injuries sustained in a bike accident. Dick made a large impact on the education in the Fond du Lac community with his many years of service to the Fond du Lac School District. He also had a large impact on the sports community in Fond du Lac. Dick was a sports enthusiast serving many years as a basketball referee in Division 1 officiating games in the Big 10. Dick was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011. Dick was an athlete himself. You could always find him at the Fond du Lac YMCA and he was inducted into Fond du Lac Softball Hall of Fame in 2000.
