Former teacher accused of sexual assault of student schedules plea/sentencing hearing
A Fond du Lac County woman facing child sexual assault charges may be accepting a plea deal in her case.
43-year-old Marcie Zimmerman, who is former teacher at Plymouth High School, is facing two counts of Sexual Assault of a Student by School Staff, two counts of Sexual Intercourse with a Child 16 or Older and one count of Exposing a Child to Harmful Material.
Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Judge Laura Lavey recently scheduled a plea and sentencing hearing for August 11th, suggesting a plea deal could be reached. Zimmerman previously pleaded not guilty to all the charges she faces.
Zimmerman was arrested in August by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation showed that she had allegedly sexually assaulted a Plymouth High School student.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Zimmerman, who taught in Sheboygan County, committed the alleged crimes with the now graduated student, within Fond du Lac County, where she resides.
If a plea deal is not reached, Zimmerman’s expected three-day jury trial will begin October 6th.
