Free Spirit Riders Under New Leadership

The new Executive Director of Free Spirit Riders realizes he has some big shoes to fill. Paul Osterholm says Mary Narges was the co-founder of the therapeutic horsemanship program and running the organization was something she was passionate about.  She founded it in 1987. Narges died this past March. Osterholm says Mary was a very special soul. He says she had a vision unlike any other person. He says she was wonderful and is dearly missed. Bonnie Schwoerer is a volunteer for the program. She says she learned a lot from Narges. One of the programs biggest fundraisers the 27th Annual Ride-a-Thon is coming up on Saturday, August 26th Schwoerer says it gives them a chance to show the public what they have accomplished with their riders. Events for the Ride-a-Thon will be held at Free Spirit Riders east of Fond du Lac on Highway 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day.
