Heavy rains prompt flash flood warnings for Sheboygan County

Rainfall rates as high as six inches per hour affected parts of Sheboygan County early Friday afternoon, prompting the National Weather Service to issue flash flood warnings. Weather Service radar estimates around five inches fell in the city of Sheboygan. Social media posts showed several areas of the city with serious street flooding. In addition, several reports of trees being knocked down from wind were reported.

While not nearly as much as Sheboygan, the City of Fond du Lac had a fair amount of rain with about an inch falling.

More rain is forecast over the area today.
