High Wind Warning Issued For FDL County

A High Wind Warning was issued for all of Fond du Lac County for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. There was also a potential for severe thunderstorms.

Bobbi Hicken, Director Fond du Lac County Communications & Emergency Management, issued a statement Wednesday afternoon, reminding county residents that “It is always important to have multiple ways of receiving weather notifications.”

Hicken said it’s critically important on days like Wednesday “as the transmitter that activates the NOAA Weather Radios in Fond du Lac County is not working. While NOAA weather radios are a great way to receive notifications, there is always a chance for technology issues, as
is what is happening today. Please be sure you have weather apps downloaded on your phone and monitor television and radio media sources for changing conditions.”

Hicken issued an update later Wednesday evening informing the public that a Technician working on the repair, had successfully repaired the transmitter and it was working again.
