Hundreds of gallons of oil dump on Dane County road

Dane County officials were left to clean up a mess on a local road yesterday and they are looking for the person responsible.
Around 2:40 yesterday afternoon, officers and the Oregon Fire Department responded to an apparent oil spill on State Hwy. 138 by Hwy. 14 in the south central part of the county. Officers say 200 – 300 gallons of oil appeared to have spilled and was approaching a storm drain and seeping into a wetland area.
Oregon fire said the incident may have been the result of a vehicle towing a trailer storing oil.
Anyone who may have seen the spill or a vehicle towing a trailer possibly containing oil is asked to call the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
