Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks was named a starter for this year’s NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles. He joins Cleveland’s LeBron James, Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid, Boston’s Kyrie Irving and Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan as starters from the Eastern Conference. Starters from the Western Conference include Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant from Golden State, Houston’s James Harden and New Orleans teammates Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. James and Curry are captains for the game after receiving the most votes in their conference. They will pick teams for the game, regardless of conference affiliation. Starters were chosen by a fan vote, players and a select group of media. Coaches will choose the reserves, with the full rosters announced next week.
