–Bryce Williams ran for two scores and Wisconsin native Emmit Carpenter made three field goals as the Golden Gophers did something they hadn’t done since 2003 – beat Wisconsin and win Paul Bunyan’s Axe. Minnesota went ahead 17-0 after a 69-yard punt return touchdown with 1:07 left in the first half. After Wisconsin made it a 17-7 game at halftime, the Gophers extended their lead out to 30 points, 37-7, before the Badgers scored with 1:15 left in the game. Alex Hornibrook threw for 189 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in the loss, while Jonathan Taylor was held to 120 yards rushing on 19 carries. The Badgers finish the season 5-4 in the Big Ten and 7-5 overall with a yet-to-be determined bowl game up next.
