High School Sports – Wednesday’s Results:
Softball:
Winnebago Lutheran 5, North Fond du Lac 2
–Audrey Schumacher went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of runs scored as the Vikings topped the Orioles to improve to 5-0 on the season. Lauren Stettbacher and Bree Rock had a pair of hits each in the loss for North Fondy.
Girls Golf – WIAA Regionals:
Fond du Lac placed fifth at the WIAA Regional hosted at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond du Lac on Wednesday. The Cardinals shot a 390 as a team, finishing eight strokes off of a trip to sectionals as a team.
Fondy will send three individual golfers to sectionals – Shefali Bhatt, Tessa Wirtz and Sidney Doyle. Bhatt shot a 92 to finish in 10th place, Wirtz tied for 12th with a 95 and Doyle tied for 15th with a 97.
Sheboygan North/South won the regional with a 346, Oshkosh North second with a 370, Sun Prairie third with a 376 and Appleton North was fourth with a 382.
Sectionals are next week.

–Another game, another one-run loss for the Brewers as they fell in game three of the series against the Phlllies Wednesday night. Didi Gregorious hit a Grand Slam in the first inning for a 5-0 lead, and that lead would hold up even with the Brewers making it a one-run game in the fifth inning. Avisail Garcia went 4-for-4 with a pair of run-scoring singles for the Brewers in the loss. Milwaukee tries to avoid the sweep today, first pitch is 12:05 pm with radio coverage starting at 11:30 on KFIZ.

–Jrue Holiday scored 29 points, with Giannis adding 23 as the Bucks held off the Wizards at Fiserv Forum Wednesday night. The Bucks host Houston on Friday.
