Large Gatherings Locally Continue To Create COVID Cases

Eleven more new confirmed
cases of COVID-19 were reported in Fond
du Lac
County

Wednesday afternoon. The Fond du Lac County Health Department reports 597
confirmed cases as of 2 pm on Wednesday, with 123 of those considered “active”
cases, and now seven hospitalizations. Fond du Lac County
Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says one of the questions people often have
is about how the virus is spreading, and how people in the community are
getting sick.

“A lot of these individuals are attending family gatherings, weddings, funerals. And a lot of individuals testing positive are people that were on our radar as well. People that were living in a household or family unit of someone that already previously tested positive.”

Mueller says those “Close Contacts” of a
positive case of COVID-19 are monitored for 14 days after having contact with
the person and are getting tested right away if they do develop symptoms.
