Suspect in custody after manhunt for motorcycle driver clocked at 154 mph on I-43

A motorcycle driver thought he could easily outrun police cruisers when he fled at a high rate of speed northbound on I-43 in Manitowoc County Thursday, June 12, 2025. However he wasn’t aware that the Wisconsin State Patrol just happened to be doing aerial traffic enforcement in the area.

While ground units had no way of keeping up with the reckless driving the cyclist was doing, the “Bear in the air” had no issues keeping tabs on the suspect.

The driver continued north, stopping for a fill up at a gas station but was able to take off before ground support could get there.

The driver was then tracked going back and forth, north and south on I-43 and also taking some county roads in the Maribel area.

The driver stopped to hide under the I-43 overpass while on Rosecrans Road, but deputies were able to find him with guidance from the pilot.

When the officer got to the suspect, he again took off on the bike and made it back to I-43.

The driver proceeded back north on I-43, exiting onto De Pere Road and going east into Denmark.

In Denmark, the driver went south on the Devil River State Trail recreation trail where he ditched the bike near Cooperstown Road and ran into the woods.

At 1PM, officers set up a perimeter around the area as other resources responded to the area to assist in tracking the suspect.

Officers were able to obtain the drivers phone number and made contact with him, convincing him to come out and surrender which he did shortly after 2 PM.

KFIZ Made contact with the Wisconsin State Patrol on the incident and learned this ordeal originated in Ozaukee County.
