Mayville Police & Fire Commission Makes Offer to New Police Chief

The Mayville Police and Fire Commission has
made an offer to Jim Ketchem to be the city’s next chief of police. Ketchem
serves as a lieutenant in the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and recently
challenged Sheriff Dale Schmidt in last month’s primary election, but lost.
Mayville Police Lieutenant Ryan Toellner has been serving as interim chief for
the city after former Chief Ryan Vossekuil left to take the same position in
the Village of Jackson. The common council is set to
meet tonight to discuss a salary and benefits package for Ketchem. He then has
30 days to make his decision.
