Miss Wisconsin Crowned New Miss America

A new Miss America was crowned in Thursday, December 15, 2022 competition and she’s from Wisconsin.

Wausau native Grace Stanke, who was crowned Miss Wisconsin in June, is now the third Miss Wisconsin to win the pageant.

Previous Miss Wisconsin contestants won the pageant in 2011 and 1973.

The 20-year-old recently won the Miss America Talent Scholarship for her classical violin performance, earning a $2,500 scholarship. She’s attending UW-Madison to become a nuclear engineer. Her studies will be put on hold for a year as she tours the country advocating for women who don’t think they can be whatever it is they want to be.

Stanke also enjoys being a classical musician and a competitive water skier.
