Mt Calvary Ambulance to continue service to Town of Taycheedah
After an unscheduled Sunday afternoon, October 19, 2025 townhall meeting, the Taycheedah town board voted to continue using Mount Calvary Ambulance Service for their area, despite previous talks about not renewing their contract due to pricing increases.
The town board was considering switching to the City of Fond du Lac for ambulance service, but with major pushback from area residences who wanted to keep the service provided by Mt. Calvary.
A large turnout was said to have showed up at the Sunday meeting, but no decision was made at that time. Instead the town board met Monday with Mt Calvary Ambulance personnel to renegotiate a deal which was agreed upon.
Mt. Calvary Ambulance has been serving the town of Taycheedah since February 2, of 1974, when the Joint Ambulance Commission was formed to serve multiple districts.
This commission was formed to serve the districts of the Village of Mt. Calvary, the Town of Marshfield, the Town of Calumet, the Town of Forest, the Town of Empire, the Town of Taycheedah, and the Village of St. Cloud.
With this commission, The Mount Calvary Ambulance Service covers 158 square miles, and a population of almost 10,000 people.
