Multiple Drownings In Area Has Area Emergency Personnel Saying “Wear Flotation Devices While On Water”

Area emergency personnel are reminding people out on local waterways to make sure they are wearing proper safety devices after a couple of incidences in recent days involving drownings.
Authorities in Ozaukee and Sheboygan Counties are still looking for a 49-year-old woman whose paddle board was found Wednesday along the Lake Michigan shore in Sheboygan County, about 4 miles north of where the woman was reported to have gone to paddleboard at Harrington Beach State Park.
Officials in Columbia County recovered the body of one person and are still searching for another after two people went underwater Thursday on the Wisconsin River near Portage and didn’t resurface. A witness told officials just before 4 PM that they saw two people go under the water and they hadn’t come back up. The pair were playing with a football when one person went out after the ball, fell off the end of a sandbar and went under the water. The other individual went to help the person who fell into the river and also went under the water.
And authorities in Waukesha County recovered a man who, along with 2 children, fell off a kayak on a lake in the town of Summit Wednesday. The children were able to
grab the kayak but the man went under and never resurfaced.
