NFDL PDQ Is Closing
The PDQ store in North Fond du Lac will be closing as Kwik Trip takes over ownership of 34 PDQ stores in Wisconsin next month. John McHugh is the Director of Public Relations for Kwik Trip. He says employees of the local PDQ were informed of that. He says the PDQ team met with those employees when the decision was made. He says they were also encouraged to apply with Kwik Trip since they have so many stores in the local market. He says if any of those 10 coworkers apply with them they will take them through the process and if they are hired welcome them into the Kwik Trip family. He says the pay is better at Kwik Trip and the benefits are substantial. He says they will also honor the tenure of the PDQ employees who apply with Kwik Trip. He says their 401K and vacation will be honored and they are waving the waiting period for health care and dental benefits. He says those benefits would kick in immediately. McHugh says they also have a profit sharing program for employees. Approximately 313 PDQ employees at those 34 stores will be laid off the week of October 9th.
