NFDL Street Projects
The North Fond du Lac Village Board approved bids this week for one street project and decided to wait on another. Bids were reviewed for both the Minnesota Avenue and Indiana Avenue street projects. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says although the bids were acceptable for Minnesota Avenue they decided to delay the project after learning a grant would pay for about 80 percent of the costs if they hold it off until 2023 or 2024. The street is eligible for the funding because it is a main carrier for the village. The village will instead do a street overlay on Minnesota Avenue and do the more expensive improvements when the grant becomes available. The estimated cost of the project is in the neighborhood of $600,000. Meanwhile they did approve the bids for improvements to Indiana Avenue. Two of the bids were about 16 percent less than the estimates for the project.
