Nine Cattle Killed In Traffic Mishap Near Waupun

The Waupun Fire Department responded to assist Dodge County with a cattle hauler that tipped over Thursday, November 10, 2022.

The fire department was paged out at around 10:25 PM to the area of 151 and 26 in Dodge County, requesting their jaws for life to help cut out the cattle.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s office, the driver of the truck pulled over on the on ramp from 26 to northbound 151.

The shoulder of the onramp was soft and the truck started to slide down the embankment, eventually tipping over.

There were a total of 38 cows on the truck. Nine of the animals were killed in the mishap.

The Waupun Fire Department was on scene for 3 1/2 hours.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.
