​Irene Catherine Herr

Irene Catherine Herr, 100, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at The Woodlands Senior Park, Fond du Lac. Irene was born on April 3, 1914 in Cleveland WI, a daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Wolf) Wagner.

Irene married Henry “Hank” Herr on February 10, 1934 at St. Wendel Church near Cleveland, WI.

Irene was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School in 1931. She was employed for several years by Bestt Roller, but devoted her entire life to raising her family. Irene was a member of Holy Family Parish, and St. Mary’s Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella, and Knights of Columbus Council #664 Auxiliary. Irene enjoyed bingo, playing cards with her friends, sewing and patching family clothing.

Irene is survived by one son Kenneth (Cheryl) Herr of Fond du Lac, six daughters, Kathleen Osborn, Eunice (James) Puddy, Mary (Jacque) Rose all of Fond du Lac, Janice (Bruce) Smith of Germantown, WI, Eileen (John) Allman of Green Bay, WI, and Susan (Reggie) Nowell of Mt. Juliet, TN. She is further survived by 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 14 great- great- grandchildren, an older sister, Ceil Mayer of Plymouth, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank, in 2005, and a son-in-law Donald Osborn in 2012.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth St Way, Fond du Lac. Entombment will be at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation: Visitation will be held at Holy Family Church also on Friday from 9:00 until 10:45 AM.

Memorials in her name may be directed to the Agnesian Hospice Hope Program.
