Norman H. Immel, 84, FDL

Norman Harold Immel, 84, of Fond du Lac went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 25, 2021.  He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, after an extended battle with cancer.

Norman was born on November 17, 1936, in Fond du Lac to Laura (Lohse) and Harold Immel.  He was baptized December 11, 1936, and confirmed March 18, 1951, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest.

He joined the U.S. Army October of 1955 and served in Germany until October 1958. He married Sylvia Behnke on June 25, 1961, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion.  He worked for Lake to Lake as a route salesman and distributer from January 1961 to July 1979.  As a born salesman Norm started Norm’s Ag Sales & Service which continues today.

He was a very active member of Faith Lutheran Church serving on many boards and committees; some included being a teller and mowing the church lawn for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, softball, bowling, playing cards, and traveling.

He was blessed to have his family close and was able to watch his grandchildren in their many activities.  He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, of 60 years; his children, Karolyn (Mark) Hannam of Fond du Lac, Linda (Brian) Voss of Van Dyne, and Mark (Sue) Immel of Peshtigo; 6 grandchildren, Zachary (Emily) Voss, Caleb (Lexi) Voss, Logan Immel, Paige (Cody) Nielsen, Brooke Immel (special friend Jacob Swanson) and Jordan Hannam; and 6 great-grandchildren (soon to be 7).

He is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Erwin & Eunice Eickhoff, Russ and Elda Boettcher, and Sharon Behnke; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Laura Immel, his brother Roger and sister Lois, and brother-in-law Ronald Behnke.

Special thanks to SSM Home Hospice and his favorite nurses Heather and Sarah; and to our pastors, friends and family who visited and prayed with Norman throughout his long journey to his heavenly home.
