Alexander W. Touketto
Alexander William Touketto, age 25, of Chilton, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 after a brave and courageous four-month battle with esophageal cancer.
Alex was born on November 22, 1993 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the son of Ronald and Cathy (Gonzales) Touketto. If you look up the definition of the word warrior in the dictionary, this would define Alex. From the time he came into this world until he took his final breath, he faced each and every battle with all of his might. He definitely was no quitter. He was a fighter! Alex had a heart of gold and didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He was always compassionate, caring and always wanting to make this world a better place. There was never a time when he didn’t meet someone where he couldn’t strike up a conversation and make you feel like you had known him for years. If there was ever something you needed to know or spell, you could go to Alex for the answer. He had the most impeccable gift to remember the most detailed facts or solve your most complicated math problem! He left a lasting impression on the ones he met. He always knew the most direct path to a person’s heart, be it a special song, a warm hug, a funny story or a funny joke. He was definitely our Olaf!
Alex graduated Chilton High School ranked 6th in his class in 2012 and was a member of the National Honor Society. After high school, he worked at New Hope Center and Reinl Accounting until his health made it impossible for him to continue. He loved the people he worked with and really enjoyed the work performed. He took great pride in finishing the tasks that he was given and each and every individual that he came in contact through his employment left a lasting impression on his life.
Alex’s true passion in life was his clocks. Collecting clocks were his pride and joy and over the years he amassed over 150 clocks for his collection. He was diligent in keeping all of his clocks on the correct time and he found them very comforting and soothing. Up until the end, he was passionate in finding that clock that eluded his collection and it brought so much joy and excitement to him when he was able to find that specific clock that he had been seeking for so long even though this nasty disease was taking over his body. Alex also loved anything Mario and collected anything related that he possibly could.
Alex is survived by his parents, Ronald & Lori Touketto, his brothers and sisters, Kimberly Touketto (and significant other, Pierre Jackson), Anthony (Michelle) Touketto, Melissa (Dennis) DuPrey, Matthew Hardrath (and significant other Becky Kufner and her son Christian), and Timothy Hardrath. He is also survived by his grandparents, Renae (Marjoire) Ott, nephews and nieces (which were his pride and joy) – Sean & Katarina Kieffer, Ariyanna and Sophia Touketto, Alexis and Claire Hardrath, Madalyn (his BFF whom he adored and was always a calming force for Alex) and Brynn DuPrey. He is also survived by several uncles and aunts, especially Doreen Hernandez, great-uncles and aunts, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy, maternal grandparents Richard and Vera Gonzales, and Elizabeth (John) Schmitz, paternal grandmother Alice Coria, Uncle Richard Hernandez and Great-Uncle Marvin VandeVoort.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 pm. He will be laid to rest with his mother in Indiana.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sodhi, his cancer center team at St. Elizabeth hospital, everyone at Heartland Hospice especially Amanda and everyone who offered prayers and support during this very difficult time. We would also like to give a special THANK YOU to Melissa DuPrey, Judy VandeVoort and Doreen Nisleit for all their love and care they gave Alex throughout his journey. A memorial fund will be established in Alex’s name.
