David J. Schroeder
David J. Schroeder, 81, of
Fond du Lac, died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Harbor Haven Health &
Rehabilitation, Fond du Lac.
He was born on April 26,
1933, in Fond du Lac, a son of Winfred and Estelle Micklos Schroeder.
David served with the United
States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
On December 8, 1956, he
married Betty Oleson.
David did long distance
hauling for Schneider National for 30 years.
Prior to working at Schneider National, he worked for Schroeder Bros.
Sand and Gravel. During retirement,
David assisted with maintenance at Westward Ho Campground, Glenbeulah, and
spent the winter months in Florida. He
also worked as a driver transporting employees of the Canadian Railroad.
He is survived by his wife,
Betty; a brother-in-law, Earl Averbeck; nieces and nephews; and best friend and
faithful companion, Mickey.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; a sister, Donna Averbeck.
The funeral service will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Mach Funeral Chapel &
Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, with Dr. Richard Averbeck
officiating.
The visitation will be on
Wednesday at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory from 10:00 a.m. until the time
of service.
Burial will follow in Rienzi
Cemetery.
