Donald A. Depies

Donald A. Depies, age 69, of New Holstein, died on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein. He was born March 3, 1951 in Fond du Lac, son of the late Henry & Hildegard (Gruber) Depies. Donald married Suzanne Fritsch on October 30, 1982 in Kiel, Wisconsin.

Don was a precision welder who worked as a set up welder for Amerequip in New Holstein most of his working career.

Don had been a member of the New Holstein Lions Club and appreciated every moment he had spending time on the water, especially canoeing and fishing. His love of the outdoors extended well beyond the water because he loved to spend time camping and treasuring the great outdoors with those he loved.

Don looked forward to every hand of Sheepshead he could be a part of and savored each and every Big Mac he could, even requesting them for birthday gatherings and Christmas presents.

Survivors include his wife: Sue; his mother-in-law: Theresa Fritsch; his children: Lisa Depies (Chris Abel), Jeremy Stier, Nicole (Ron) Schwaller; 2 grandchildren: Taylor Schwaller & Senior Airman Brandon (MacKenzie) Schwaller; his siblings: Alan (Betty) Depies, Dale (Mary) Depies, Richard (Catherine) Depies, Mark (Natalie) Depies, Linda (Mike) Bruckner, Bev McCasky; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law: Gene Fritsch, Sr.; and his brothers-in-law: Dale Fritsch and Donald Ecker.

Funeral service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, June 8, 2020 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home with hospice chaplain, Barbara Kopitzke officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, June 8, 2020 when the service will be held.

Donald’s family would like to thank everyone at the Calumet Home Care and Hospice, as well as the entire staff at the Homestead in New Holstein for all of the love and care that was provided.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Donald A. Depies.
