Eileen J, Ramminger

Eileen J. Ramminger, age 79, of Kiel, died on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.  She was born June 1, 1938 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Elizabeth Brott.

Eileen married Alphonse Joseph Ramminger on July 7, 1956 at Mother of Perpetual Help in Milwaukee.  The couple lived in Milwaukee before moving to Cedarburg, and finally residing in Kiel.  In 1962, Eileen and Alphonse founded Ramminger Interiors, Furniture & Floors in Kiel and later founded America’s Mattress in Kiel and Appleton.  With a strong and dedicated work ethic, Eileen was extremely proud of their family business.  She managed all aspects of the business until she formally retired in 2010.

She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years.  She was a strong business leader in the community.   Eileen was a member of the Kiel Chamber of Commerce where she was instrumental in starting various merchants events for the community, such as, the Christmas parade, side walk sales, and German Days to name of few.

If Eileen wasn’t working, she looked forward to moments spent with her family.  She often said she had six children just so they could all be close to her and if one child came to visit, it would be assumed that the others weren’t far behind.  She especially loved family time spent at the “the farm” where parties were had and memories were made.

In her free time, Eileen enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens at “the farm”.  She loved to travel whether it was short trips or traveling around the world.  If the car was leaving the driveway, Eileen would make sure she was in it.

She was a strong and vibrant woman whose love of life and family will be greatly missed by all those who knew her, especially her beloved family.
