Eugene H. Blatz
Eugene H. Blatz 83 passed away on Sunday April 3rd 2016 at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville, AR. Eugene was born February 3rd 1933 in Fond Du Lac, WI son of Clarence and Dora Gilgenbach Blatz. He married Patricia L. Strebe on September 21st, 1963, she preceded him in death. He later married Helen Swore May 15, 1999 she survives.
Also surviving are his children Joseph C. (Elizabeth) Blatz of West Dundee, IL, Peter J. (Tami) Blatz of Springfield, IL; his brother Clarence “Fuzzy” Blatz Winter Haven, FL and sister Lola Blatz Braun of Fond Du Lac, WI; five grandchildren, Andrew, Danny, Bradley, Emma, and Abby Blatz; Stepchildren Lori (Roger) Sorenson, L. Butch (Brenda) Isensee, Lanny (Kathy) Isensee; seven step grandchildren: Jenny, Sean, Nicole, Erin, Luke, Paige, Shelby Isensee; and five great step grandchildren: Trevor, Kyle, Alexa, Connor, and Paisley.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Dora Blatz; his wife Patricia L. Blatz; his brother Edward Blatz; his sister Celine Blatz; his mother and father-in-law Clarence and Caroline Strebe; and his beloved grandson Danny Blatz.
Following his retirement from Giddings & Lewis in Fond Du Lac, WI he moved to Bella Vista, AR where he enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends. He spent the winters in Bella Vista, AR and summers in Crosslake, MN. Eugene was an active member of St Bernard’s Catholic Church Bella Vista, AR and Immaculate Heart Church Crosslake, MN. He served as an usher at both St. Bernard Church and Immaculate Heart Church. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed many activities with the Men’s club and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Eugene was a devoted Green Bay Packer’s fan. GO PACK
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday at 11 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at church, and mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. Cremation has taken place with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery with American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 conducting military rites.
The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Northwest Medical center and the Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville, Arkansas for their wonderful care.
