John D. Murphy

John D. Murphy, 61, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 23, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Fond du Lac on March 13, 2016, the son of Ambrose and Dorothy (nee LaPlant) Murphy. 



On December 23, 1987, John married Sharon Schaefer in Fond du Lac. 





John worked as a self-employed carpenter and roofer in the Campbellsport area prior to his illness. He was a founding member of the Campbellsport Jaycees, and a little league baseball and basketball coach. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he loved the time he spent with family and friends. 



John left a little piece of himself in all his work around the Campbellsport area. 



John is survived by his wife Sharon, his daughter Megan, his mother Dorothy, his siblings Michael (Molly), Patrick (Annette), Mary Dickens, Daniel (Jaunita), Jane (John) Matusinec and Helen (Boyd) Plankinton, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 



John was preceded in death by his father Ambrose, his son Casey, his daughter Jamie and his brother-in-law James Dickens. 





Visitation will be Thursday, October 27th from 3:00 until 6:00 PM with a memorial service at 6:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. 



John’s body has been lovingly donated to the Medical School of Wisconsin, even after his death John continues to give.
