John Peter Birschbach
John Peter Birschbach, 69, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully on December 6, 2022 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born April 27, 1953 to Franklin and Catherine (Thelen) Birschbach.
John was united in marriage to Alice Marie Anderson on October 18, 1975 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. They celebrated 47 years together.
John attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from L.P Goodrich High School in 1971. He continued his education at UW-Stout and ultimately received a Master’s Degree from Marian College.
John retired from Mercury Marine after 42 years in manufacturing engineering. He obtained a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt during his career. His work allowed him to exercise a love of travel.
John was an avid member of the Corvette Club many years ago. He loved to support the local 4-H kids; especially, the Rabbit Project. John was a very influential part of Fond du Lac Blue Line Club for figure skating and hockey and did lots of projects and improvements for the club and its facilities. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and partake in many different endeavors.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 664 and a devoted parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Community. He even won Altar Boy of the Year.
John was a social butterfly. He could often be found talking someone’s ear off.
John will be dearly missed by his wife Alice; daughters and their families, Heather (Corey) Piepenburg and son Blake, and Sabrina (Christopher Hohner and daughter Audrey; mother Catherine Birschbach; siblings Barbara (Gregory) Deer, Susan (Thomas) Schmitz, and Daniel Birschbach; in-laws Diane Anderson, Mary (John) Havey, Kathie (Don) Mueller, Dan (Sandy) Anderson, Margie (Ed) Whealon, and Ellen Anderson; as well as other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father Franklin; sisters Marian and Nancy Ann Birschbach; mother and father in-law William and Gladys Anderson; in-laws Pat Anderson, Carol (Danny) Donovan, Tom Anderson, and Mary Therese Anderson.
John’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Wednesday December 14, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac from 9:30 AM until 12:15 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 12:30 PM. Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum.
