John Wilhelme
John Wilhelme, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Home of Hope on October 26, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on March 1, 1939, in Fond du Lac to Grant (Red) and Cecilia Wilhelme.
On June 16, 1962 John married the love of his life, Mildred “Mickey” McCrory. Together they built a beautiful life centered on love, laughter, and devotion to their family, raising three children—Lori, Steven, and Julie. The family are members of Holy Family Catholic Church.
John spent many years of his career at A.C. Nielsen Company. He later worked at Multicircuits Inc. in Oshkosh. During his retirement, he worked at Pick ’n Save, where he enjoyed socializing with his coworkers and the many regular customers who brightened his days as much as he brightened theirs.
He had a lifelong love for cars of all kinds and enjoyed attending car shows whenever he could. John was also an avid sports fan, especially when cheering for the Chicago Cubs, the Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mickey Wilhelme, and their children: Lori Egli (Mike) of Fond du Lac, Steven Wilhelme (Tina) of Fond du Lac, and Julie Pientack (Stash) of Canton, MI; and his cherished grandchildren: Tyler (Lilly) Egli and Andrew (Allison) Egli, Brock Wilhelme and Grant Wilhelme, and Ella Pientack. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne (Dick) Beth of Oconomowoc, and nephews John and Steve Beth, as well as many cousins and friends. His family will forever remember his kindness and the countless ways he made their lives brighter.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Grant (Red) and Cecilia Wilhelme.
