Justin “Jay” Burke Jr.
Justin “Jay” Burke Jr., 85, passed away at Edenbrook of Fond du Lac on October 12, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late Justin and Grace (Murray) Burke, Sr.
Jay graduated from Marmion Academy in Aurora, IL. He served in the United States Army for two years. Jay married Jeanette Conrad on September 12, 1973 in Chicago.
Jay was employed as a mechanic with United Airlines at O’hare Airport for 36 years until his retirement in 2000.
Jay loved anything to do with airplanes. He was an EAA member and attended the EAA Airventure every year. He was a traveler and took a family trip to California every summer. Jay also enjoyed motorcycle riding and trap shooting. He had several favorites: dogs of all kinds, popcorn, a brandy old-fashioned press with olives and Friar Tucks.
Jay was a man of few words and a gentle soul. He was a devoted family man and provided for them. He adored his grandchildren.
Jay is survived by his wife of 45 years Jeanette; children Jeffrey (Shelly Dietel) Burke and Jennifer (John) Gliniecki and two grandchildren Elise Burke and Tatum Draheim. He is further survived by one brother Dennis Burke and nieces Tracy Burke, Bridget Burke and Meghan Burke and Lyndsey Hayes.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Patty Burke.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
