Kay Marie Schmitz

Kay Marie Schmitz, age 76, of Kiel, died on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was born July 24, 1938 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Robert & Emma Ida (Kattre) Kleinfeldt. Kay married Daniel Schmitz on February 11, 1961 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. Kay devoted her life to caring for and raising her family; she truly felt blessed to be able to lovingly care for each and every one of her children throughout their lives and in all they did. With such a big heart, Kay bent over backwards to make the lives of all those she loved better. In her free time, she raised flowers, had a deep appreciation for all of the animals in her life, and never passed up an opportunity to visit with her sister. Survivors include her husband: Daniel; her children: Lisa (Richard) Lefeber, Kurt (Monica) Schmitz, Cindy (Jerry) Pitzen, Michael Schmitz, Rodney (Cheri) Schmitz, Chad Schmitz; 9 grandchildren: Brittany Lefeber, Amelia, Emily & Daniel Schmitz, Sarah Pitzen and her fiancé Michael Kolbe, Kelli & Rachel Pitzen, Kyle & Courtney Schmitz; and a great grandchild: Brock Kolbe. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild: Tyler Lefeber; and her siblings: Regina Botsch, Orvin Kleinfeldt, & Judith Johanning. Funeral service will be at 5:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (1212 Teckla Pl.) in Kiel. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 4:45 pm on Friday, February 13, 2015. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Kay Marie Schmitz.
