Kenneth R. Handy

Kenneth R. Handy, 85, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on August 6, 1937, in Two Rivers, the son of Louis and Violet (Hoffman) Handy. Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy. On January 9, 1960, Ken married Mabel Priebe in Oshkosh.

Ken worked at Mercury Marine for 38 years before retiring. During his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Whether it was trips with his wife Mable and sister Lois and brother-in-law Tom, playing Yahtzee, lawn dice, and bowling with the kids. Ken loved a good campfire with a cold beer, talking about the “good ol days.” He enjoyed his time with his daughters going to fish fries and gambling. Ken loved listening to Elvis and showing off his trainset to his children and later in life to his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to all his grandchildren’s sporting events and was very proud of when his first great grandchild was born, Jaspir. Ken was an avid Packers fan, win or lose.

Survivors include three children, Louis (Cheryl) Handy, Michelle (Scott) Holzman, and Nicole Mayborne; nine grandchildren, Rebeka, Rachel, Amber, Cheran and Caleb Handy, Brady and Joe Holzman, and Lindsey (Stephen) Hamilton and Austin Wagner; and great grandson, Jaspir; a sister, Lois Meisel; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mable; a granddaughter, Bethhaven Handy; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

The visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 5:00 PM at the funeral home with Military Honors to follow. Private burial will occur on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
