Lorraine A. Jacobson
Lorraine Alvira Jacobson passed away peacefully on December 4, 2018, at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin surrounded by loving family members. Lorraine was born on April 4, 1929 to the late Frederick and Margarite Trott in Fond du Lac.
She married Oliver T (Ozz) Jacobson on May 24, 1958 to whom she was lovingly devoted through 56 years together until his passing in 2015. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Margarite Trott, stepmother Marie (Salzmann Karst) Trott, Husband Oliver, sisters Mary (Davis), Melonie (Rice), and Janice (Duket).
She is survived by her three beloved sons, Todd (Rhyll, Victoria, Australia) Timm (Sonja) of Delafield, Wisconsin, Tedd Jacobson of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and her very favorite grandson Nicholas (Sarah Ruth Horn) of Denver, Colorado, Two brothers, Kenneth (Shirley) of Westby, Wisconsin and Marc (Nancy) of Mayville, Wisconsin, many nieces and nephews and their extended families as well as many lifelong and dear friends.
Family and compassion for those less fortunate were the foundation of Lorraine’s life. She enjoyed crocheting infant and chemo caps in her later years of which she donated over 800 to various hospitals and medical centers filling her heart with immeasurable joy. Lorraine was known for being the family historian and telling and retelling familiar stories filled with the love of friends, family and her many adventures. She visited Todd in Australia and the memories of those experiences will be cherished by her family forever. Lorraine loved attending events surrounding all her boys’ interests and hobbies and was known for cheering them on at bicycle races, running events and many graduate and post-graduate ceremonies.
Lorraine retired in 1992 after 33 years of being employed in various telecommunications positions at Wisconsin Bell and AT &T and was a very early pioneer for women serving in professional positions in the workplace by advancing into management early in her career.
Lorraine was devoted to her church family at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Fond du Lac and enjoyed serving during the various volunteer opportunities which came her way as a result.
Visitation will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 535 Stow Street Fond du Lac WI, 54935, on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 12 noon. A memorial service will follow the visitation at the church with a luncheon to follow there also.
