Louise “Lou” Steffes
Louise “Lou” Steffes passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 8th, 2023, due to natural causes. On May 4th, 1947, she was born in Antigo Wisconsin to parents Cecil and Edith Jenkins. She graduated from Elcho High School and then settled in Fond du Lac to raise her two sons. Lou had many great friends, enjoyed cooking, bowling, watching football, making her famous apple pie and most of all, watching her grandkids grow. She was a gentle soul that found happiness in helping others. She will be sorely missed.
Louise is survived by her sons, Ken (Eloise Tedtaotao) Steffes and Rob (Heather) Steffes; grandchildren, Avery and Aidan Steffes; siblings, Darlene (Ryan) Reimann, Bette (John) Hofman, Barbara Elliott, Al (Lynda) Jenkins, Ellie (Dean Scheid) Yungerman, Sally (Jeff) Towne, David (Becky) Jenkins, and Tina (Vern) Sneller.
She is further survived by her sisters-in-laws, Barb Steffes, Rose (Darryl) Kilsdonk; brothers-in-law, Tony (Cathy) Steffes, Tom (Geri) Steffes, Hank (Ginny) Steffes, and Frank Steffes. Louise is also survived by the father of her children, Edwin (Diana Kirschbaum) Steffes, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Louise in death were her parents, siblings Jim Jenkins, Mary Mikkelson, Cecil Jenkins Jr, and brothers-in-law, DuWayne Elliott and Jim Steffes.
A visitation for Louise will take place on Tuesday August 15, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St. in Fond du Lac.
