Mary A. Heidel

Mary A. Heidel, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at her home on September 24, 2022.

Mary was born on October 4, 1951 in Ripon, WI to Lawrence and Katherine Berndt, the youngest of three children. She graduated from Ripon Highschool class of 1970 and attended Bryant Stratton Business School in Milwaukee, WI.

She married Bruce Heidel on June 2, 1973 in Ripon, WI. They made their home in Fond du Lac, where they raised two beautiful children and have lived in the same house for 45 years.

Mary is survived by her husband, Bruce; children, Sarajane (Andrew) Schmidt of Brownsville, WI, and Melissa (David) Renderman, of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Zachary and Delilah Renderman; sister, Barbara Berndt Crnkovich, Sturgeon Bay, WI; brother, Kenneth (Charlotte) Berndt, of Raymore, MO; and nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends. She is further survived by her dog, Quincy; and many granddogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Katherine Berndt; parents-in-law, Donald and Ella Heidel.

Mary’s family will greet friends and relatives for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, WI.

Memorials in Mary’s name may be directed to “Baggin’ for a Cure” at 305 Wisconsin Street, Mayville, WI 53050.
