Mary Frances Wahoske
Mary Frances Wahoske, 87, of the Woodlands,
formerly of W7202 Brown Road, Fond du Lac, passed away Monday, September 15,
2014 unexpectedly at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born April 27, 1927 in Fond du
Lac to Peter F. and Thelma L. Lyneis Thelen.
Mary was united in marriage to Louis F. Wahoske at
St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac on September 28, 1946. They celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in 1996. Louis passed away
January 13, 1998 of lung and bone cancer.
After graduating from Goodrich High School in
1944, Mary was employed at the Fond du Lac County Agents office and UWEX
Horticulture Agent Secretary. She
retired in 1989 and farmed with Louie in Fond du Lac for 49 years.
Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the
Ladies Altar Society in Fond du Lac. She
was a 65-year member and past Regent of Daughters of Isabella and a member of D
of I Grandmothers club. She belongs to
the KC Auxiliary member, Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters member over 65
years and Friends of Senior Center. She
also was a former PTA member of Sacred Heart, Longfellow and Homiston schools. Mary was a 30-year member and past president
of Homiston Homemakers club, a former 4-H club member and 20-year 4-H Club
leader.
Mary enjoyed the Ramada Health Club, and her
activities at Sacred Heart Parish as Altar linen care, weekly hour in Adoration
Chapel, helping with religious education, picnics and dinners at Sacred Heart.
Her hobbies include golfing, bowling, vegetable and flower gardening, arts and
crafts, especially embroidery. She loved
to sew, cook and bake, read and work on family geneology. Mary and Louie enjoyed their many tours and
trips and loved the great outdoors and the beauty of nature. Mary especially loved and enjoyed her family
and friends.
Surviving Mary is one son, Michael (Jane); five
daughters, Linda (Lee) Sippel, Patricia Boelhower, Carol (Craig) Hamberger, Mary
Cynthia “Cindy” (David B.) Mueller and Jeanne (John) Endejan, all of Fond du
Lac. Grandchildren include James and Michelle Wahoske; Scott (Jessica) Mueller
and Jennifer (Michael) Millage; Rebecca (Shane) Boelhower-Santi, Joel (Shannon)
Boelhower and Matthew (Erin) Boelhower; and Caleb Endejan, all of Fond du Lac;
Steve (Jodi) Mueller and eight great-grandchildren Luigi Santi, Kendra Whitty,
Brayden and Sofia Millage, and Holly, Sydney, Alex and Derek Mueller. Further
surviving Mary is one brother Donald C. Thelen of Tuscon, AZ; two sisters,
Catherine Birschbach and Genevieve Stratz of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law Joyce
(Ronald) Moyer of Arizona; one uncle, William J. Lyneis of Highlands Ranch, CO;
many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Dave Halverson.
Preceding Mary in death was her husband Louis; her
parents; and three brothers-in-law Glen Stratz, Ron Moyer and Franklin
Birschbach; two nieces, Marion and Nancy Birschbach.
Visitation: The family will receive relatives and
friends on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters
Avenue, Fond du Lac, from 8:00 until 9:45 AM.
Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be directed to Relay for
Life or Holy Family Parish.
