Mary Helen (Grahl) Gantner
Mary Helen (Grahl) Gantner, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, November 12, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born March 31, 1939 to Harold and Ruth Grahl. She graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1957. On October 10, 1959 she married Melvin H. Gantner in Eden, WI.
She was a lifelong member of Tabor United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and belonged to the women’s group. Mary liked cooking, baking, going out to eat, and eating ice cream. She enjoyed camping and loved going to the cabin with many campfires. Mary especially cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her patient, caring, faithful heart, and her smile that never left her face.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Melvin; four children, Lance (Nancy) Gantner, Jay (Lisa) Gantner, Jill (Todd) Scheberl, and Craig Gantner; six grandchildren, Gavin, Bret (Randi), Shelby (special friend Brandon), Bo, Laina (Zach), and Bree (Derek); ten great grandchildren; her siblings, Carol Salter, Bill (Karen) Grahl, and Gary (Janice) Grahl; brother-in-law, Dick (Caren) Gantner; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Jack Salter and Louis Kemnitz and sister-in-law, Lucille Kemnitz.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Tabor United Methodist Church, N4224 Church Road, Eden, WI. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM at the church on Wednesday with Pastor Jess Graham officiating.
The family extends a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Fredrickson, The Adalaide Place Assisted Living, and Preceptor Hospice for all their support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s name can be made to St. Judes or by planting a tree.
